Héron wants nothing more than to be seen for her hard work and her perfectionism. However, just before a big performance, her long-time dance partner is suddenly replaced: Héron now finds herself with a new dancer – Celeste – by her side. Celeste is the exact opposite of Héron: inexperienced, free-spirited, and completely undisciplined. In her attempt to defend her position in the ensemble, Héron is increasingly confronted with her own limits – and with the question of how much of herself she is willing to sacrifice for the choreography.

Starting from the destroyed grave of my mother, a search begins for the remaining apparitions. A mourning ceremony, a movement of remembrance, attempts at resuscitation. ghosting mother works with methods of autofiction and deals with questions of grief and its ritualization in bourgeois catholic contexts in an experimental documentary form. The self-developed 16 mm film reflects in its own materiality and its damage the failed attempt to record what has been lost.
Exploration in the unconscious where everything is connected, nothing is determined and the emphasis is on the ever-changing. In a naturally altered state of consciousness, the boundaries of time and space dissolve. Sounds become visible, forms audible. Deeper focus offers more: connections of tones and undertones linked to visible forms and their mirrored reflections – periodically interacting with each other.
