Strange teen spirit

Frank Ternier France, French, 00:15:40

Anton observes. Alone. A phosphorescent glow flickers through the streets. Anton sees a bee dying, then another. No one sees a thing, not even Kata, over there on the roof. Kata and his gang are running, laughing, spray-painting. Anton watches them, especially her. He dreams of joining them.

Director Frank Ternier

Frank Ternier is a self-taught French film director, author, editor and graphic designer, known for his artistic approach blending genres and media. He began his career by founding L’Astronef association in Tours in 1999, where he surrounded himself with artists and technicians from diverse backgrounds. In 2010, he directed his first animated shortfilm, Le di@ble en bouche, followed in 2014 by 8 balles, a striking film about a father's quest after a family tragedy, which was selected at the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes and received acclaim in over 100 festivals worldwide. A founding member of the Ideal Crash collective, Frank has multiplied projects mixing fiction and experimentation, notably with his film Riot, supported by Arte, tackling social anger by integrating dance and collage, which attracted festivals’ attention such as the Ottawa International Film Festival and Interfilm in Berlin. Today he continues with Strange Teen Spirit, a shortfilm produced by Ikki Films and supported by Arte too, which explores the inner world of a teenager in search of justice.
