Stefan Dodurov graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia. His acting career fueled an evolving relationship with storytelling, leading to his debut as a screenwriter and director. His scripts, "The New Statue" and "Silent Night," won Best Screenplay from the Bulgarian Film Society in two consecutive years, reflecting his emerging voice as a filmmaker with a flair for irony and moral undertones. His first short film, "The New Statue," is a mockumentary centered on self-deception, exploring the strange interplay between truth and imitation. His upcoming project, "Silent Night," is a Christmas comedy with a dark twist, examining parental negligence and the consequences of unchecked childhood behavior. Nikolay Gunderov studied directing and dramaturgy at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He gained firsthand filmmaking experience on "I Served the King of England" and "Beauty in Trouble," working under acclaimed directors Jiří Menzel and Jan Hřebejk. His script "69 Meters"—a tragicomic tale of creativity, freedom, and how talent can destroy a person—received the Creative Europe MEDIA Award for Best Screenplay. Nikolay is drawn to themes of mystification and its fictional manifestations—an approach he sees as lacking in contemporary Bulgarian cinema. In creative collaboration with Stefan Dodurov, he helped bring "The New Statue" to life, inspired by the pursuit of personal truth in the face of doubt.
