Rafael Kousz, born in Munich to a Swiss father and a Moroccan mother, completed his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Digital Media and is now pursuing a future in directing while being enrolled at the University of Television and Film, specializing in Film Production and Media Management. As a Student Trainee with the renowned distributor Alamode Film, he assists in bringing films to cinemas, including The Seeds of the Sacred Fig, Dreams, and etc. In 2015, he co-founded FilmDestillerie with a school friend, where he led various commercial film productions and directed. As part of his studies, he has already presented several films at renowned film festivals, including Triumph of the Actor by Daniel Holzberg, Don’t Let Go, and The Proposal by Antonia Linder. He is currently producing I Understand Your Displeasure by Kilian Armando Friedrich, which premiered in the Panorama section of the 2026 Berlinale.
