THAIS FERNANDES (1984) has a degree in journalism. Since 2007, she has worked as an editor/director of audiovisual projects for television and cinema. She also works in education as an instructor of free courses on film introduction and documentary projects. Focused on non-fiction narratives, she directed the short films "Love Contract" (41st Gramado Film Festival), "Navigators" (Curta Cinema 2015), and "A Female Body" (BFI 2018). She was responsible for the executive production, research, and video editing of the web documentary "The Invented Village" (60th DOKLEIPZIG). In 2020, she launched "AFTER ALL, WHO IS GOD" (Prix Jeunesse International 2020), her first TV series, as well as her first feature film, "PORTUÑOL," which won the Best Feature Film Award at the 48th Gramado Film Festival. Since 2024, she has been an alumna of the 11th class of DOCNOMADS, an Erasmus Mundus master's program focused on documentary directing. In 2025, she is preparing the theatrical release of her second feature, "MSD'UP - My Life with Multiple Sclerosis," a documentary about the life of Brazilian cartoonist Rafael Corrêa.
