After two decades behind bars, Denis walks back into a world that has moved on without him. Seeking a moment of solitude, he returns to his childhood home, but he quickly realises there is a parasite living in it - a young ballerina. What unfolds is a tense, disturbing and life-changing encounter between two terrified souls with contrasting paths of fate, but united by their desire to survive. Daniel Varbanov is a Bulgarian actor and emerging director with training from the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (Sofia), the Oxford School of Drama, and Mountview (London). His extensive stage and screen experience informs his approach to filmmaking, with a strong focus on character and storytelling. As an actor, Daniel is a recognised Bulgarian talent, having received awards for his performances and delivering standout work on the National Theatre stage as well as in film and television. Scrambled Eggs marks his debut as a film director.
