Director Kiril Todorov

Kiril Todorov was born in 1989 in Burgas, Bulgaria. He initially studied Indology at Sofia University. While studying there, motivated by a strong interest in cinema, he created the short film “Imagining Devdas”—a project sponsored by the Indian Embassy in Sofia. Kiril later began studying film directing at New Bulgarian University, where he directed “The Patient”, a project developed within the master class of director Georgi Dyulgerov. Several other short films followed, among the more notable being “All Through the Night”, “The Architect”, and “WHEEE”, the latter two funded by the National Film Center (NFC) and/or the National Culture Fund (NCF). In early 2025, Kiril directed his first feature-length film, “Embug”, which is scheduled for release in 2026. His films have been selected for and awarded at festivals around the world. Kiril has also worked as a VFX Artist, collaborating with studios such as WWFX (Sofia), UPP (Prague), and Troll VFX (Finland). His credits include films and series such as “Black Adam”, “Wonder Woman”, “Allied”, “Terminator: Dark Fate”, “Jungle Cruise”, “The Terror”, “Raised by Wolves”, and others. He has also directed a large number of music videos under the creative name “Voesoli”, through which he is currently in the process of establishing a production company based in Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.
