Hakim Atoui is a French-Algerian director. In 2020, he co-directed the self-produced documentary "La Première Marche". In 2024, he directed his first fiction shorts : "Goodbye Sun" (Grand Prix at Busan Int. Film Festival and selected Palm Springs Int. Film Festival 2025, qualified for the French Cesar and the Oscars 2026) and "Blood Ties" (which was in the 2025 French Cesar Award shortlist). "The Man in the Showers" is his third short.
