Nighttime with Vampires is a mockumentary with horror elements, set one year after the events of The Last Vampire of Sofia – the documentary film which unexpectedly turned 140-year-old Spyridon Evstatiev into a media sensation. On Halloween night, our crew once again follows the lonely vampire on an unforgettable journey through the dark streets of Sofia, where he faces costumed fans, intrusive journalists, and the shadows of his past. The film blends irony and absurdity in a story about solitude, friendship, and the search for belonging in the contemporary world.

Lina Pavlova is a Bulgarian filmmaker based between Sofia and London. She earned her BA in Film Directing from Royal Holloway, University of London (2021). Her work bridges fiction, music video, and documentary. She has directed videos for rising British and Bulgarian artists and worked with Agitprop, an award-winning production house. In 2024, she associate-produced a historical documentary TV series for Bulgarian National Television. Lina’s shorts and music videos have screened at festivals such as In the Palace ISFF, Kerala IDSFFK, Salerno IFF, and Golden Rose FF. Her work explores the intersection of memory, urban texture, and marginal narratives. The Journey of a Mattress is her post-graduation narrative debut. She is currently developing her first feature film and teaches film practice at the National Theatre and Film Academy in Sofia.
