Paolo Gaudio is an Italian director, screenwriter, and animator specializing in experimental animation techniques, including stop motion, cut-out, and CGI. His feature debut Fantasticherie di un Passeggiatore Solitario earned 14 international awards. In 2018, he won the Silver Ribbon for Best Animated Short with LOONEY FOODZ!. His 2022 short THE BLACK reCAT screened at major fantasy festivals worldwide, winning 12 awards and receiving a Méliès d’Argent nomination. Since 2014, he has contributed to InGenereCinema.com and created Il Giro dell’Horror, a docu-series on Italian horror cinema. In 2024, he wrote and directed DAGON, a stop-motion adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft’s story, which received the Méliès d’Argent. That same year, he joined the organizing committee of Fantafestival, Italy’s longest-running genre film festival.
