Júlia Kühne Escolà has a background in filmmaking and went on to study film theory. She earned an International Master’s in Cinema Studies (IMACS), completing the program in Bochum, London, and Barcelona. During her studies, she worked as a freelance filmmaker and for film festivals. She then completed an internship in the Department of Film, Television, and Radio at the Goethe-Institut (Germany's cultural institute) headquarters in Munich. Since 2023, she has worked for AG Kurzfilm, the German Short Film Association, which serves as a service center for Germany's entire short film industry and as a point of contact for policymakers, the film industry, cinemas, and film festivals. Júlia primarily works on projects focused on the international promotion of German short films.
