Assistant professor Zdravko Ruzhev is a teacher in the "Audiovisual Production" department of National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts "Krastyo Sarafov".
He teaches disciplines such as "Camera assistance", "Television technique and technology", "Frame composition", "TV reality format", "Special visual effects" since 2018.
He works actively as a director of photography in a number of Bulgarian television shows - "Never ending Music" (BNT); "No Man's Land" (Nova TV); "With BNT forever" (BNT); the documentary series “Untold in History” (bTV) and documentaries “The Novoselscko Uprising" (dir. Nikolay Rusakiev, 2023) "With attention to detail" (dir. Desi Tombusheva, 2022); "Citizen of the World: Yul Brown" (dir. Nikolay Rusakiev, 2022); "The Tomb of Levski" (dir. Nikolay Rusakiev, 2021); "Forgetfulness" (co-authored with Prof. Tsvetan Nedkov) (dir. Prof. Valya Fidanova-Kolarova, 2021); "Battenberg - the prince of the Union" (dir. Nikolay Rusakiev, 2020); "The Legend of the Crickets" (dir. Stanislav Terziev, 2017);
In 2022, he won a scholarship from the French government for high research level at the Louis Lumiere French Film School, Paris.
In 2023, he defended his PhD thesis "Programmable lighting systems in the screen arts".
He is the author of the book "Aesthetics of Kinetic Light in Cinema and Television".
Zdravko Ruzhev participated in several scientific forums in the country and abroad. He is the author of scientific publications in Bulgarian and foreign editions.
