FESTIVAL

One lovely and long waited week just officially ended!

A week of 128 films, physical screenings, online screenings, Q&A sessions, pressconferences, presentations, pitching session, nice people, sweet talks, many many drinks and team just of 3 (and a half).

Indeed it was a too crazy and long year. Indeed it was too strange festival edition - welcoming only Bulgarian industry and audience for a very first time in our history. But even though everything was almost perfect. Almost, because we missed you all really bad! The festival would never be the same without you being here and sharing with us this one so special week!

But we are sure that better times will come soon and we`ll have the chance to meet you another time. Why not in 2021!

Thank you all for your amazing films and work – it was an honor to present you here in sunny Varna!

Thanks to the jury members for their dedicated and professional work!

Thanks to all the people who dared to get in the cinema halls! You already know how important this is, especially now!

Thanks to all of our friends for their kind support! We love you so much!

Thanks to our families for being that patient through all the year – we are coming home now!

You all stay safe and be ready for 2021!

Truly yours,

Galina, Tsanko and Liliya

CALL FOR PITCHING 2020

17th IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival

(15-22 September)

15TH FILMER FORGE Short Film Pitch 2020

The forthcoming edition of FILMER FORGE industry programme invites authors of compelling short film projects to pitch them in front of an international panel and win a grant towards their production and/or find new partners.

The pitching session will have two related sections, as follows:

 I.             NATIONAL PROJECTS

Bulgarian filmmakers and producers who seek producing, funding, and development opportunities for their current or upcoming short film are invited to apply. Up to 20 national projects, selected on the basis of their application, will be invited to pitch to a national panel, and the 10 best projects will have the opportunity to take part in the INTERNATIONAL PITCHING of the pitching session.

 II.            INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

International filmmakers and producers who seek producing, funding, and development opportunities for their current or upcoming short film project are invited to apply. Selected projects will be invited to present their work to an international panel.

On both pitching panels, each project team/representative will have a fixed time (7 min) to present their project and answer questions raised by the panel only. The competition focus will be on the originality of the concept, the artistic and production potential of the project, and on how convincing was the pitch itself.

In order to provide the best possible environment for international networking and project development, FILMER FORGE will be inviting a range of industry enablers to attend the pitching sessions. To ensure that all projects receive feedback, we will also be setting up face-to-face “speed dating” meetings between those who have taken part in the pitching, the panel members, and the attending industry representatives – funders, producers, distributors, buyers, festival representatives, etc.

The best project/s will be receiving a financial grant.

 How to apply?

All applicants (national and international) are invited to complete the Application Form and send it together with the additional materials to: filmerforge@inthepalace.com

The deadline is 15 July 2020.

Submit your projects now!
