Soaring Roaring Diving
animation , Tue, 13:00
New Zealand, 2008, 6 min
Director: Miriam Harris
Synopsis: Virginia Woolf wrote the words "soaring, roaring, diving..." in a letter where she was ruminating upon the joys and upheavals in life. In this mixed-media animated film, the animator and composer, having both lost their sisters, who were still young, to terminal illnesses, explore themes of journeying, childhood memories, summer in the South Pacific, swimming and diving as metaphors, working through grief, and the proverbial glass half-full or half-empty question.
