This is the story of a little girl and a nut. It is also the story of a middle-aged woman who has lost all contact with dreams. La Tuerca is about magic, memories and the significance of small things that we sometimes forget when we become adults.

Azul Melissa Martinez's first professionally directed film was the documentary film called Esquizofrenia. It received several awards. In 2006 she took a postproduction course in Madrid and directed her first short film in 16 mm called La Tuerca which was postproduced and finished in 2007. La Tuerca has been selected for more than 50 film festivals around the world and has received several awards. In 2008 she studied creative writing in La escuela de letras de Madrid. At the moment Azul Melissa Martinez is working on her next script.
