He has always been fascinated by the power and potential of fiction. By the time he was in high school, he was creating illustrated chapbooks with titles like I Would Buy You an Electronic Rose Garden. As a lifelong fan of comic books, Ian felt privileged to coordinate a 3-unit class called "The Craft of Comics" for three years at UC Berkeley, where he earned a B.A. in Art and Creative Writing. He's currently an M.F.A. candidate at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where he enjoys producing and directing films. Ian's favorite playground is the genre of magical realism.
