Synopsis: Ten year old Benjamin and his mother, live on an isolated farm, under the violent reign of his father. Mother takes the beating and tries to cover up and keep things normal. ␣But when Benjamin one day witnesses this beating and his suspicions are turned into facts, Benjamin wants his father to apologize to mother for hitting her. Naively Benjamin believes that things can be set straight with words alone. And, when Benjamin worsens the situation by taking father's puppy as a hostage, things escalate to a point where mother has to step up and do what she should have done a long time ago.

Lars p Arendt – Director, Screenwriter Lars is an 32 year old director educated at Super8, a film school in Aarhus, Denmark. He has made the award-winning shortfilm A MIND’S I – a film on it’s fourth festival year worldwide. Since 1999 he has made around 10 shortfilms in the genre of drama, experimental, found- footage and horror. Recently he won the Filmaka Entry Level Contest with the grotesque film DON’T PANIC. He is now in a competition with jury members counting W erner Herzog, W im W enders, P aul Schrader and others. BEAST , with the famous danish actress Anne Louise Hassing, who also starred in Lars von T rier’s THE IDIOT . W ith a completely professional cast, this shortfilm is meant to be the final ordeal before embarking on the road to the world of feature films. Lars is a member of the union of Danish Film Directors.
