Synopsis: The documentary “The Impudent: Account Closed” tells about a considerable blow, which the investigative authorities in Bulgaria stroke on organized criminal activity at the end of 2009. “The impudent” are a very well organized criminal gang, which over a two-an-a-half-year period kidnapped 19 people in this country. Millions of Euros of ransom were transferred to the bank accounts of the “impudent” over this period. Some of the hostages were found dead, others were put to physical and psychological torture and maltreatment. The impudents’ style made some conclude that the activity of the crime gang was pure terrorism. The fact that famous public figures were among the kidnapped was considered outrageous and seriously worrying by society. Police’s failure to reveal the kidnappers all the more enhanced the general idea that the Bulgarian official authority are incapable to deal with organized criminal gang.
