Synopsis: In 1946 one of the most colossal projects ever undertaken in Europe was begun: the construction of the Salime reservoir in a remote mountainous part of Asturias. Joaquín Vaquero Turcios was 22 when he arrived at the site to paint the mural in the turbine hall, a life-changing experience that marked his subsequent personal and artistic career.

Director’s biography JORGE RIVERO. Mieres, 1975. Jorge studied Film at the University of Ovideo from 1995 to 1997 and then from 1998 to 2002 produced various audiovisuals for the fields of industry and advertising. He was also coordinator of extras in the films Pídele cuentas al rey [Go and Ask the King] (José Antonio Quirós, 1999) and Carne de gallina [Goose Flesh] (Javier Maqua, 2002). In 2000 he joined the staff of the film magazine “Vídeo Actualidad”, occupying the post of chief editor until 2009. He has been the director of the Mieres Short Film Festival “Cortomieres” since the first edition in 1999.
